Organon of Medicine

§ 20 Sixth edition

This spirit-like power to alter man’s state of health (and hence to cure diseases) which lies hidden in the inner nature of medicines can in itself never be discovered by us by a mere effort of reason; it is only by experience of the phenomena it displays when acting on the state of health of man that we can become clearly cognizant of it.

In this aphorism, Dr Samuel Hahnemann again want to clear the concept of Dynamic Homoeopathic Medicine. Because, number of times, even till today, this question is again & again asked by materialist regarding the action of the Homoeopathic Medicines that How they act?
If the things are Dynamic, how can it be possible to find out the action of Homoeopathic Medicine? We can find out the dynamic hidden power present in Homoeopathic Medicine only by the method of Cause & Effects. Unless, we use it on healthy human beings, we can not get the exact knowledge regarding the medicinal power. There is no scientific instrument available to find out the same & it cannot be discovered because of its dynamic nature.
He has used the same word "Knowledge of Medicinal Powers" again in the aphorism no.3 while explaining the qualities of the Homoeopathic Physician. Here, he want to explain that Medicinal Power of every Drug is different in different potency because the same drug shows a different picture in different potency & it can be cognizable to us only by using it on healthy human beings. For e.g. Rhus t 6 is totally a different medicine than Rhus t 10m as they produce totally different action when used in healthy human being. Rhus-t 6 will show a very superficial action more at the exterior at the level of akin & mucous membranes as in the form of fever blisters while Rhus-t 10m will show the depth of it at the level of more interior at Bones & Mind producing the pains, swellings & restlessness etc.
Drug Proving is the only method thro' which we can perceive this spirit-like power.

§ 18 Sixth Edition

From this indubitable truth, that besides the totality of the symptoms with consideration of the accompanying modalities (§ 5) nothing can by any means be discovered in disease wherewith they could express their need of aid, it follows undeniably that the sum of all the symptoms and conditions in each individual case of disease must be the sole indication, the sole guide to direct us in the choice of a remedy.

In this aphorism, Dr Samuel Hahnemann want to explain the importance of the language of the disease for the purpose of finding out the similimum. He has already explained it while explaining the Qualities of Homoeopathic Physician in the Aphorism no.3 that he should have the" knowledge of Disease, indication". So, in one sentence, he has explained the need of having the knowledge of the diseases from pathological point of view in order to understand the disease pathology & pathogenesis along with the understanding of its prognosis but not from prescribing point of view. He used the next word i.e. indications which is important for prescribing point of view. Because, the disease get expressed thro' signs & symptoms along with the state of the individual expressed thro' sensations, modalities & concomitants. These modalities gives the characteristic appearance to the sign & symptom which is very useful to find out the Similimum. For e.g. Asthmatic breathlessness agg. at 12 midnight, better by drinking sips of warm water directly gives hint to us regarding the Ars alb. If it's only Asthma as a diagnosis, we cannot find out the medicine on the basis of pathology.

§19 – Now, as diseases are nothing more than alterations in the state of health of the healthy individual which express themselves by morbid signs, and the cure is also only possible by a change to the healthy condition of the state of health of the diseased individual, it is very evident that medicines could never cure disease if they did not possess the power of altering man’s state of health which depends on sensations and functions; indeed, that their curative power must be owing solely to this power they possess of altering man’s state of health.

In this aphorism, Dr Samuel Hahnemann wants to explain regarding definitions of Disease, Cure & Medicine.
What is exactly mean by Disease?
Diseases are nothing but the alterations in the state of health of the healthy individual which are ex...pressed at the level of Sensations & Functions thro' morbid signs & symptoms
What is mean by Cure?
Cure is nothing but bringing back the former healthy state from a diseased one i.e. removing those signs & symptoms with the help of proper Medicine selected on the Law of Similars.
What is exactly mean by Medicine?
He says that substances which has the capacity to alter the state of health of the human being at the level of Sensations & Functions are called as the Medicines. The curative power of the Medicine solely depend up-on this specific characteristic.

Dr Saloni Jain: As aphorism 15 had been well explained by dr prasad, so i m putting up aphorism 16, let's discuss aphorism 16 today.


§ 16 Sixth Edition:

Dr Prasad Rasal:
Our vital force, as a spirit-like dynamis, cannot be attacked and affected by injurious influences on the healthy organism caused by the external inimical forces that disturb the harmonious play of life, otherwise than in a spirit-like (dynamic) way, and in like manner, all such morbid derangements (diseases) cannot be removed from it by the physician in any other way than by the spirit-like (dynamic1, virtual) alterative powers of the serviceable medicines acting upon our spirit-like vital force, which perceives them through the medium of the sentient faculty of the nerves everywhere present in the organism, so that it is only by their dynamic action on the vital force that remedies are able to re-establish and do actually re-establish health and vital harmony, after the changes in the health of the patient cognizable by our senses (the totality of the symptoms) have revealed the disease to the carefully observing and investigating physician as fully as was requisite in order to enable him to cure it.


In this 16th aphorism, Dr Samuel Hahnemann want to explain the necessity of the Dynamic Medicine to treat the Dynamic Disease developed at Dynamic Plane.
Number of person don't understand what exactly is the dynamic derangement of the Vital Force. Even the students of Homoeopathy just memorize this sentence for examination point of view without understanding the exact meaning of it. Unless you understand this dynamic concept of disease origin, it is not possible to get understand the Homoeopathic Science. Because of which some people creates group like "Homoeopathy is full of shit" without understanding the Dynamic Concept of the Human Being. So, before explaining this aphorism, I will try to make it simple by explaining in detail with examples what is Dynamic Concept & then why there is the need for Dynamic Medicine.
Let's first understand the Dynamic Human Being. Every human being is having the Mind, Logic & Susceptibility. I think even Materialist will also agree for this. Otherwise, they are missing it. I want to put them a question, where this Mind & Logic is situated? Can you show it with some visible measure? But still, you agree that it is present because of the Theory of Cause & Effects. I know that because of these sentences, Materialist's susceptibility, mind, logic might start showing some reaction. I am not putting any Material Entity in their body but still the reaction might come out which itself is the proof that there is something Dynamic Mind, Logic, Ego present in an invisible manner everywhere in the body which get affected because of just Contradicting the Material Concept.
One more example of Dynamic Derangement is: A common curse "chyaa aayalla" affects the next persons "I" i.e. his ego where actually nothing material entered in his body but still due to susceptibility, an ego, it provokes an anger in him & he starts fighting with the fellow who has produced a curse. This reaction might remains for some time & later on the anger subsides & the fellow comes to normal again because this is the basic work of the governing dynamic vital force to preserve the health. If it would have not present, the fighting reaction might remain as a continuous process till death/ end of the life of either one of them. In this case, Anger is an expression if the derangement of the inner dynamic vital force.
So this is true that every one reacts to external dynamic stimulus even though it is verbal. In fact, verbal dynamic stimulus is more potent than the material stimulus because material enters inside the body & body reacts to it depending on the virulent nature of the material. But in case of verbal stimulus, the reaction is instantaneous as it affect the Ego, Mind, Logic, Emotions of the next person.
Where 2 or more persons are present, there is always be a confrontation between their opinions. Human being is an animal who remains in group & not alone. Naturally, there are always the chances of difference in their thoughts & which can affect their ego, mind, emotions, logic etc. Due to this there are temporary reactions of the persons which subsides after some time & their health is again restored due to governing vital force. But when the dynamic trauma (Emotional, Mental, Verbal) is so severe, the reaction which comes out is the strong one & even vital force is unable to control it, at that time the expressions of it come out in the form of symptoms to which we label by the name of Disease. This is nothing but the dynamic derangement of the vital force.
Let me explain it with one case. A patient came to me for the treatment of a very Big Fibroid of the Uterus. Clinically, it is a pathological disease. Her history shown that she had a disappointment in love 15 years back because her parents were against their marriage & they have done her marriage with the fellow from their cast. She has a son & daughter but till the case was taken, she was not able to forgot the lover. This prolonged, unresolved grief she was not able to share with any one, not with her family members from both sides as well as with the friends because otherwise she would have blamed. She was not able to come out this grief which got saturated & developed a pathology in the form of Benign Fibroid. She wept a lot while narrating her case & shared the grief in detail with me which she cannot with any one. So, what is the disease in this case? Is it a Pathological Fibroid or Dynamic Unresolved Grief? If you consider Fibroid as a disease, the aim of the treatment becomes removal of the fibroid. Even if you remove the fibroid, the unresolved grief remains as it is & responsible to produce another pathological lesion at some other susceptible place inside the body.
That's why Dr Samuel Hahnemann explained in this aphorism that unless we treat such dynamic derangement, it is not possible to cure the patient. In this case, Fibroid is the expression or result of the internal dynamic disease. And to remove this dynamic derangement, the medicine should be the dynamic one which can act in the same dynamic plane. Material medicine will not able to act at dynamic mental plane to remove the grief. So, what is needed is the Dynamic Medicine like Homoeopathic Medicine based on the Law of Similars. In this case, the diseased state was expressing in the form of two very important symptoms if you are able to perceive them through Homoeopathic Sight.
1. Ailments from, Grief, sorrow, care, Prolonged & unresolved
2. Weeping, tearful mood, telling her illness, when
Along with other symptoms, I prescribed her Carcinocin 30 3 doses followed by placebo & gradually within the span of 6-8 months her fibroid got resolved.
Some of my student asked me, Sir, her maintaining cause is still present, how can it be possible to get the result? I told them, my dear friends, after the medicine, she came out of the delusion in to the reality to accept the present state which she was not able to. In fact, coming out of the delusion i.e. dynamic unresolved grief in this case is the Cure. If such dynamic derangement get resolved, naturally, the pathology get resolved which is in fact is the expression of the disease.
I think, this is nothing but the detailed explanation of the 16th aphorism.
I know it's too long but it was needed for them whose concepts regarding the Dynamic Science are not yet clear. If anything is wrong, please forgive me.

Good Afternoon Sir, I request u to please help us understand the aphorisms, please teach us today's aphorism 15, I will b very thankful to u.

APHORISM 15:

§ 15 Sixth Edition: The affection of the morbidly deranged, spirit-like dynamis (vital force) that animates our body in the invisible interior, and the totality of the outwardly cognizable symptoms produced by it in the organism and representing the existing malady, constitute a whole; they are one and the same. The organism is indeed the material instrument of the life, but it is not conceivable without the animation imparted to it by the instinctively perceiving and regulating dynamis, just as the vital force is not conceivable without the organism, consequently the two together constitute a unity, although in thought our mind separates this unity into two distinct conceptions for the sake of easy comprehension.

Prasad Rasal:
In this aphorism, Dr Samuel Hahnemann want to explain the Understanding Human Being as a Whole. To understand the things better, we use to separate the things so that we can perceive them easily. But because of this aspect, number of times, we consider them as the separate entities. In fact, this is the tendency of Human Mind to consider the things as separate entities for their own comprehension. This might be very correct if the things are of material entity. But, when we are considering the Dynamic Human Being, we cannot separate the Mind, Vital Force & the Body from each other. We cannot explain each entity without the reference of the other. Let's try to explain the Mind without the considering the Material Body or viz. In fact, when we have to explain anything regarding them, we have to explain that specific entity with more reference of other two things. We cannot explain the Vital Force without the Physical Body. The only reason behind this is they are not different but the same, as a single unit. Mind cannot react separately without the body & viz. That's why the live human being reacts to any external stimuli as a whole whether it is a material stimulus or dynamic stimulus. For e.g. if he gets angry, the body trembles & if their is a pain in any part, the mind gets irritated. In fact, its nothing but a Single Unit Reaction but for our understanding, we say like this as mind & body.
This is the reason that due to any dynamic stimulus acting on the human being, due to the Susceptibility, reaction reflects as an outwardly expression in the form of mental as well as physical symptoms when the Vital Force whose office is to Preserve the Health gets disturbed beyond its capacity to which we label by disease. So, this is Unique reaction of the Human being as a whole consisting of Vital Force, Mind as well as Physical Body. If we are able to understand this unity in diversity, it become very easy to understand the HUMAN BEING.
Organ of Medicine is nothing but the study of Perceiving the Human Being in order to solve his problems.

What Pulsatilla at puberty,Graphitis at menopause....what does it imply?

The state of disposition & mind of the Pulsatilla is very similar to Puberty age group as the changes happens in the Physic along with emotions. The girl is changing towards teenage with changes in the hormones & this change is new for her.... Sometimes, it is taken in a positive manner & the glow on the face comes out. Here she is getting something new & she becomes more affectionate where as sometimes in a negative way & expresses as a weeping tendency, despair as a result of not getting accustomed to this new change.
In Graphites, the female who use to get accustomed with regular menstrual cycle & harmony again starts finding out the change which is totally different than what she felt at the age of puberty. Here she is loosing something which she don't want to. And that's why, the typical features of climacteric syndrome start appearing in her both at the level of physic & mind. She becomes more emotional, depressed, excited easily which is very close to Graphites picture.
I think this is what comes out as: What Pulsatilla at puberty, Graphitis at menopause...
